In her self-proclaimed “year of nudity,” Lake Bell‘s already landed the cover of Maxim, as well as a role in A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, an Apatow-esque end of summer film. She has just begun another season of her own show, and is also happy to be a guest on one of television's top new hits, too. The actress resumed her role as finding-her-way Rachel in the HBO comedy series "How to Make it in America" on Sunday... then two nights later, she turned up in the third episode of FOX's Tuesday ratings smash "New Girl," playing a co-worker and romantic temptation of Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) less-than-confident roommate Nick (Jake Johnson).

Still, when Elle Magazine caught up with Bell at Orgy‘s premiere recently the only thing they really wanted to know was what it’s like to have onscreen group sex with real-life buds...


The brunette beauty’s new film was certainly a bit tricky to film. “It was so embarrassing,” says Bell. “We filmed the orgy scene at the end of the shoot, so by that point we were all, like, best buddies. Then all of a sudden we have to be in pasties and nude cocksocks. I would be lying if I said there wasn’t any alcohol involved.”

So a group sex scene is as awkward to shoot as a regular sex scene?

Yes, of course. Can you imagine? Can we just think about that for a second? Imagine what it was like kissing in front of the friends you’ve hung out with for a month or two, in a location where you’ve played ‘Would You Rather…?’ and Connect Four late night and gotten drunk and whatever. Now, you’re sitting in front of them and you have to do fake sex in front of them. Doing a sex scene already is awkward as hell and doing a sex scene with someone you are friends with adds to the awkwardness. Now, add this layer: doing that sex scene with that friend of yours in front of all of your other friends while they’re doing sex scenes.

That said, the Maxim cover girl says she’s single and ready to mingle. “I am looking for a guy who makes you want to dance wand write poetry all day long,” she says. “I am very picky, though.”
