Strike Back, Cinemax’s action series about an elite military unit on the hunt for an elusive Middle Eastern terroist, has been renewed for a another season. The show, which stars Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) and Philip Winchester (Camelot), received an order of 10 new episodes, which will begin shooting in South Africa in early 2012 and will air later in the year.
The third season will once again be co-produced by Sky, Cinemax/HBO and Left Bank Pictures. "Strike Back has proved to be an incredibly successful brand for Sky1 HD, and our collaboration with HBO/Cinemax made the scale and ambition of the second season even more exciting," said Anne Mensah, Sky's Head of Drama. "The third season is shaping up to be even stronger. We want it to be the most high-octane, action-packed drama on British television."
"We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Left Bank and Sky on Strike Back," added Kary Antholis, president of HBO Miniseries. "The next season promises much more action, suspense and compelling drama."
